Birthday Suprise!

The night shift girls threw a suprise party for me tonight at work! I had no idea that anything had been in the works. Nancy made us all go to the south lounge for line up and I was complaining a bit about why we had to go to the south lounge. So when we walked in they had the south lounge decorated in pinks and greens, my favorite colors! The theme was birthday breakfast of course because I love breakfast!! YAY!! They had all my favrite drinks, grapefruit juice, and orange pineapple and tea, and KC1 brought yummy creamers for us for coffee. I got great birthday presents from Jami and Kris, more details on those to follow.

When I got here I was signed up for a patient hmmmm... They picked me specific for this patient, because of HIPPA I can't tell you the circumstances of their situation, however I was picked for this patient. I got report, and I went into the room, and low and behold I realized I knew the father of the baby... He and his wife were here delivering their first baby.. With the situation at hand, I feel so blessed to have been here and a part of their labor process I feel it was definetly God playing a role in this...

Birthday coming up

  • It's official, my 31st birthday is in one week. I am excited to be turning 31. I have a big family dinner planned on Sunday we're going to BBQ and swim, and Michelle and Hannah are going to come over. Wed, my actual birthday Jami and I are going to paint pottery, because I have been asking forever to do that. Thur, the 4th we are getting together for dinner at Benihana with a bunch of people from work. I am really looking forward to this years birthday, when I think back to where I was last year, I feel that I am in a much happier place in my life....

  • I have learned a lot of things about myself, I also was able to figure things out for myself, and walk away when it was right for me.... I've figured it out on my own, and I don't have love in my heart for him at all anymore...

  • I also just bought an amazing 3100 sq ft. home, that is fabulous, I have a house that I cook dinner with my sisters in, and we sit at the table and eat dinner together, clean the kitchen together and then sit around the family room watching tv talking...

  • I'm "talking" to someone who is a really nice guy, we have been talking for the last 2 months, via email and text. We are supposed to meet on Thursday for coffee before work. His name is Trainer Bill. I had been talking to Football Sean for awhile, we met for coffee last Friday before work and there was just no real chemistry there, and he looked much older then his pictures he sent me. He is very nice and we'd talk on the phone for hours on end prior to the meeting but I just wasn't feeling it. I am also scheduled to meet Grill Will on Friday for lunch.....

  • I will keep you posted on the upcoming "dates"

Lizards, late night talks and slushies

I have an older sister, her name is Mindy.... Today I was getting ready for work and it dawned on me that I have the best older sister in the world... Sometimes we may not get along and sometimes we may not talk that often but when we are together or we are on the phone it's like no time has passed......

Yesterday I woke up to find a tailless lizard in my house, it's the 2nd one in a week! I was panicked because it was alive, so who came to the rescue, my big sister Mindy, she drove over here, picked him up and released him outside.

When I was a kid and we were in elementary school I always talked a big game, and who was there to defend me? My big sister Mindy, she punched Freddie right in the gut because he was picking on me...

When times were a little rocky 2 years ago, and things were uncertain in our lives, who did I pick up the phone and call? My big sister Mindy, and she got in the car and headed over... When I was uneasy that night who talked to me on the phone all night long while I was looking stuff up online? My big sister Mindy...

When I left Brian a few months ago and my sisters were sleeping and my parents were out of town, I was at Jami's house getting ready to go to bed, who out of the blue called me to see what was going on? My big sister Mindy.. It was like she knew I was troubled....

When I was really sick after my gallbladder was out, who drove all the way over to the house with 4 giant slushies each day? My big sister Mindy..

I'm blessed to have a an amazing older sister!! Sometimes I don't talk about her as much because she leads a very busy life with her career, because she has dedicated her life to helping kids, but I know that there is always that one person I can count on, My big sister Mindy.

(An excerpt from the Dave Matthews Band website)We are deeply saddened that LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. LeRoi had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program.

Super sad story, I actually almost cried in the conference the other day when I heard the news... I love him, and his music, and the concert this Saturday will certainly be void without a 10 minute sax solo by LeRoi.....

This week I had a breastfeeding training class that was good and then attended mega day and NRP. It was a little rough waking up in the morning and getting motivated to go to work lol. I had lunch with Kris D. at Zinc Bistro at Kierland Commons, it was super yummy, but I'm thinking it will be added to the "doesn't tolerate post gallbladder"

A New York Style Parisian Bistro. A 4000 sq, foot restaurant that is designed with contemporary sensibilities, yet returns the nostalgic ambiance of an authentic Parisian bistro. Round marble bistro tables and wicker chairs spill out onto the sidewalk, offering a kind of people watching one might indulge in, along Boulevard Saint-Germain. Zinc Bistro also offer a romantic garden patio secluded deep in the restaurant, lit by candles during the evening, creating an unforgettable ambiance, or a relaxing atmosphere near our fountain in the afternoon.
This is a wonderful place to eat, here is a link to their menus. http://www.zincbistroaz.com/menus/
Kris and I each ordered a sandwich but split it so we each could try something different. We had the GRILLED CURRY CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH - (Shaved Almonds, Raisins, And Celery On Foccacia) and the CROQUE MONSIEUR, SOURDOUGH, BECHAMEL, HAM AND GRUYERE. Totally delicious!

Found Dog

So Jami, Rachael and I were driving through a yucky part of Mesa, trying to get to the local Saturday night hangout a.k.a Walmart and I saw this dog running through the intersection of Country Club and Southern Ave. I started screaming OH MY GOD DONT LOOK, OH DON'T GET HIT! So then cars sped around it and I made a u-turn and Jami jumped out and grabbed him. We put him in the car and pulled over and he is so friendly and has tags with a number that is disconnected. We took him home and bathed him, he has good manners, he knows how to climb stairs, he loves a good bath, he likes his curls blow dried, you can tell he's been fed too many treats, so now we are in search for the owner!

I haven't posted in a while.. I've been very tired.. SO here are some updates. We are still working on getting settled in the house. Our oldest sister brought over a big {pink} laundry basket filled with household goodies, like marshmallows, gold canyon candles,
laundry soap, a candle melter, etc.. IT was a fun present!

We hosted our first dinner party last Saturday. We had 10 people total, it was great... Kris D. gave me her recipes for spinach and artichoke dip and manicotti. So we had spinach and artichoke dip with sliced baguette, and wine. Then I served meat and cheese manicotti, a big salad and garlic bread (great recipe I saw on food network). Then my sister made lemon bars, and a peanut butter desert and one of the couples brought cheesecake. We sat and visited for hours. Our friend brought their 2 week old son over, and so I got tons of snuggle time as he slept on me.. I just loved it! Then we played Scene it! We had a ton of fun!

Last night Kris D. and I went to eat and then we saw the Sisterhood of the traveling pants 2. It was a good movie. I love movie nights! I slept last night from 1030p-130p it was great!!

I went and saw my Dr. yesterday regarding my hands getting so numb lately. The other day after pushing with my patient for 2hrs that my hands were so numb I couldn't hold the baby after delivery, I had no feeling in my right hand. So the doc. gave me 2 braces to wear for the next 6 weeks, then we are going to do a nerve study.. She said if the braces don't fix it then we will do surgery ASAP to release some of the tension in my wrists, since this is now effecting my job!

Sometimes its hard to sleep at night... So Im awake, and I have to say that it is NEVER a good idea to hack into someones email, or texts, or voice mails.... If you do, be prepared for what you may find, because you may not like it... And then what are you going to do?!?!

It sucks when ur awake at night and people you want to talk to are sleeping...

Rejoining the dating scene

"It is possible to make it to 30 without having kids, there are 2 of us in this room!!"

Ha ha ha ha...

Remember Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy (SNL) Yeah, umm being on the love seat in Jami's house is like having our own deep thoughts moments...

I went out to Oregano's with Michael (the older one with the kids) we haven't talked much since gallbladder time. We both bought houses this past week so we ended up back in contact over the houses etc. and he invited me to dinner. It was nice, we were able to talk about our latest dating endeavors and I was able to talk to him about the Paramedic and where things are with that.

He is so nice, so it was nice to be able to go out to dinner with a friend.

My parents have been amazing this past week, my father installed all the fans, he has been over several times to help out around the house, my mom has driven out almost daily to help, clean and organize, and decorate! I love it! I used to live a mile from them and they never came over, now I live 13 miles away and they come over all the time..

The past 2 nights I have slept at night, it has been nice!!

Ok so we are back in the saddle again, I rejoined the dating life and we'll see what happens.. I will keep you posted.. Actually WE will keep you posted, I'm going to have her post about her dates or I will have her start her own blog!

Ok, I need to think about heading home soon, we have a day of shopping planned for tomorrow... :)

Oh yeah, PS... I know all about the Myspace stalking, lame, totally lame.... That is why your blocked now.. ha!

No flare on this one... Too tired....

Exhausted, that is what I am right now...

I never got to bed on Friday am, because I wasn't tired, so I went to the house instead and started working on putting things together. Then I spent the day packing and moving back and forth.

My amazing friends came over and put together EVERYTHING that needed to be assembled. Jami and KC2 were a fabulous little team putting things together, on the other hand KC1 and I didn't do so well at assembly, we were more in charge of things like, music, and chips and drawers lol. Jami came over with the prettiest flowers, and PINK Champagne and the best treat in America, cheese dip and chips... I am a synthetic cheese lover lol....

We worked our butts off until 0600 today!! Then Jami went home to sleep and the KC bros and I went to Taco de Chandler, it actually was delicious. I then went to sleep at 0730 and had to be up by 1000 to let the guy who installed the doggie door in.. It has been the longest 3 days of my life, and when I don't sleep I actually feel sickly blah...

The highlight of today is the fact that my father showed up at the house with ceiling fans :) Who needs a man in your life when you have a great father??

On another note, there is no more Paul... The best way I can summarize it is, there was a problem last week with him and me and my relationship with Jami and that just doesn't fly for me.... Therefore we went separate ways....

On the last note, something else is brewing.... We'll see it just depends at this point in my life....

Ok, I have to get to bed, I have to be up at 0800 for the movers...

Ikea, bugs and good memories....

Holy Toledo I think we bought everything Ikea sells. We were there for almost 4 straight hours. It was so bad we had to call our parents to bring their Tahoe to help load it all because my little SUV was packed. We went to the house and unloaded everything! When we got there, there were a few crickets inside! YIKES!! Anyone who knows me knows that I HATE bugs, so I knew that this was going to be a problem. After the big unloading I went and dropped off the girls and went and picked up KC.
We went and ate pizza down on Mill Ave. then we went to our local hang out, Walmart. We bought a ton of bug killer, bubble gum and gummy bears and a few other things and headed out to the new house... KC took action and sprayed down the entire house, by the time he got upstairs we were coughing and sneezing it was funny. Then he sprayed the entire backyard. We then bought foggers for the house, so we got all ready and then set off 3 foggers! We ran out of there laughing and coughing it was hilarious... What a fun memory I will have of the night I moved into the house...

Well it's late and I'm just getting home and need to be up by 12 so I need to get some sleep!! Oh yeah, I bought the movie Bella tonight as well... I can't wait to watch it again!
